The Supervisory Board of the State Corporation “Roscosmos” approved the decision to “optimize the headcount of the corporation's central office by 10%” at the suggestion of General Director Yuri Borisov, according to the website of the state corporation.
At the meeting, Borisov presented the new structure of Roscosmos. In particular, Andrey Elchaninov and Alexander Ivanov (he held the same position at Roskosmos in 2013-2015, and was also the acting head of the corporation) became deputy general directors.
Both were previously members of the board of the Military-Industrial Commission under the government, they were relieved of their posts in August this year. RBC wrote about Ivanov's possible return to the corporation in July. Later it became known that he would oversee the production of satellites.
In the structure of the state corporation, the report says, there will be two new directions. Firstly, Roskosmos intends to start cooperation with private companies that build satellites to provide space services to “a wide range of users <…> on a reimbursable basis. Secondly, an “electronic component base for space vehicles” will be created, which is necessary for the production of hundreds of satellites a year.
Borisov said earlier that Russia lags far behind other countries in the production of satellites. He also noted that space services should be provided on a commercial basis and not free of charge.
Among other decisions of the supervisory board— appointment of Anatoly Usmanov as the General Director of the Salavat Chemical Plant and the head of the company “Information Satellite Systems named after.
