On July 1, the training stage of the All-Russian Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence for schoolchildren in grades 8-11 started. The Olympiad is held thanks to the federal project “Artificial Intelligence” national project “Digital Economy”. 

How to participate? 

Interest in artificial intelligence technologies is rapidly growing in the world, new digital formats and training programs are emerging. In Russia, this is also given close attention. Increasing the interest of Russian schoolchildren in artificial intelligence technologies — one of the priorities of the federal project “Artificial Intelligence”.

The Ministry of Education is the organizer of the All-Russian Olympiad. Students in grades 8-11 can take part in it. On the official website training events are held to prepare for the Olympiad. 

In 2022, with the support of the Institute for Education Development Strategy of the Russian Academy of Education and the company “VK” for the first time a training stage was organized. Anyone can take part in it. The training stage is held online on the All Cups portal. This is a completely domestic development, created by the specialists of the company «VK». 

"We are happy to support the All-Russian Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence and give an opportunity to talented children from all over the country to try their hand at such a sought-after direction, — says Dmitry Smyslov, Vice President for Human Resources and Educational Projects at VK. — The training stage and all subsequent stages of the Olympiad will be held on our All Cups platform for IT competitions. I am convinced that for many children the path to IT and the opportunity to create useful digital services and technologies in the future begins precisely with participation in such Olympiads.

An interactive bank of training tasks is available around the clock. You need to register for the training stage on the official website of the Olympiad — from July 1 to September 25, 2022.

“Development of artificial intelligence is a cross-cutting theme of all priority sectors of the economy, including education, — marksYulia Goryachkina, member of the organizing committee of the Olympiad on artificial intelligence, acting director of the direction “Personnel for the Digital Economy” ANO “Digital Economy”. — In the federal project “Artificial Intelligence” a number of measures are envisaged to integrate knowledge about AI technologies into school and university education. We strive to maintain and develop the interest of young people in modern technologies, to form a community of digital economy professionals capable of solving ambitious tasks, to ensure the achievement of the technological sovereignty of our country.

In addition to the Olympics, the state has planned a number of educational programs, within which under the guidance of experienced professionals, schoolchildren will learn how to implement their initiatives in the field of information technology. One of these projects — hackathons and lectures on artificial intelligence, which are also held thanks to the federal project “Artificial Intelligence”; national project “Digital Economy”. Like the Olympics, this is a good opportunity for future professionals to prove themselves and become part of a large professional community in the field of AI in the future. 

All in all, thanks to the Digital Economy national project, in the period from 2021 to 2024, 116 artificial intelligence hackathons (85 regional, 24 district and 7 international) are planned, as well as 85 lectures from leading domestic AI experts.
